THE FRANCISCAN SISTERS invite all parishioners to join them in honoring our Blessed Mother
each weekday evening of May (Mondays through Fridays). They will be reciting the rosary at
7 PM in the chapel of St. Margaret Convent. The Rosary will NOT be recited on Monday, May
26th and Tuesday May 27th.
ST. MARGARET'S REGIONAL SCHOOL NEWS: Mrs. Noonan's Kindergartners are continuing to "eat" their way through the alphabet. They have two letter sounds left. They are also learning to add and subtract as well as memorizing number facts. Mrs. Noonan reports that the children love learning Geography with maps and globe. They are currently focusing on states and capitals. KA is almost ready for First Grade!
Mrs. Carey's third graders have been going over the order of the Mass in order to understand each important part of the Celebration of the Eucharist. In math class, they are interpreting the remainder to best answer written problems in division. The children are combining putting on a play, using the model in their reading book with their knowledge of Our Country's History. Groups are writing and performing a scene from 1773-1865. These skits are an independent cooperative effort of each student group.
Mrs. Jenning's 8th grade science students recently finished learning about velocity, acceleration, and speed. Her 7th graders are learning about atoms, ionic and covalent bonds, as well as the periodic table of elements. In math class, the 7th graders are working on using percents, finding the percent of a number, and finding a number when a percent of it is known.
FAMILY PERSPECTIVE: A mother's presence can bring peace to a frightened child just like Jesus brought peace to the disciples in today's gospel. As bread and wine bring us Christ's presence in the Eucharist, mothers are the instruments of Christ's presence in the home.
MARRIAGE MOMENTS: Communication tip: If a positive and negative message conflict, the negative message is always stronger. That's why if you compliment your spouse but follow it with a complaint, he'll focus on the complaint.
ST. MARGARETS SENIORS are holding their annual Spring Fling on May 15th at Gambi Caterers at 12:00 Noon. Entertainment will be provided by a couple of bums called the Express. Tickets are $18.00.

Payment due when reserving.
ST. MARGARET'S WOMEN'S CLUB MEETING: Please note that our May meeting will be held on Tuesday, May 13th (not the 20th) at 7:30 PM. The Executive Board will meet at 7 PM. The reason for the change is the Carnival which is being held the week of May 18th to 24th. This will be a very important meeting as we will be voting for officers for the 2008-2010 year - please mark your calendar! We, as a group, sincerely mourn the loss of our President, Lorraine Raspa. She will be missed by all .

Stewardship Reflection
Stewardship and the Holy Spirit
They are like a tree planted near streams of water, that yields its fruit in season. Its leave never wither; whatever they do prospers. (Psalm 1:3)
When we credit our blessings to God, we can see the Holy Spirit moving with us in our daily lives. Our desire to serve God in thanksgiving is lived out in our stewardship.
